Privacy Policy

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is the operator of GamerName.de. For privacy-related questions, contact us at: kontakt@gamername.de

2. Browser storage

Names are generated in your browser. Your keyword is not sent to our server. Favorites are stored locally on this device until you remove them or clear browser data. No account is required.

3. Optional usage measurement

Optional measurement is off by default. With your permission, tool actions, language, generator and style, plus a random session ID and its start time, are sent to our server. Names and keywords are not sent. The ID resets after 30 minutes without a measured action or after four hours. Permission lasts for this browser tab and can be withdrawn under Optional usage measurement. Previously recorded actions remain in server logs.

4. Shared shortlists

Only the Share shortlist action creates a link containing the selected names. Anyone who receives this link can read them. The names are in the URL fragment, which is not included in normal HTTP requests to our server. Do not include private information in shared names.

Username checks

Our profile lookup starts automatically when you open a check link containing a name, or when you click Check name or Check. The entered name and selected service are sent to our server, which queries Roblox, GitHub, Steam Community, Mojang’s Minecraft service, Lichess, Chess.com, GitLab or Dailymotion. Results are temporarily cached in server memory for up to 60 seconds; the application does not write names to logs or usage measurement. Opening external provider links or Instant Username sends normal connection data and, where included in the link, the name to that website. Typing alone does not start a lookup. When opening a check link, we read the name from its URL fragment and send it to our server and the displayed platforms for the automatic check.

5. Hosting and advertising

The hosting provider receives connection data needed to serve the website and may maintain access logs. This version does not mount advertising scripts from Google AdSense or Adsterra.
